Uber Health Partners With Solve.Care To Accept Crypto Payments

It’s another win for blockchain and crypto as it finds application in the healthcare sector once again. Solve.Care, a blockchain-powered, Kiev-headquartered healthcare services platform has recently partnered up with Uber Health for a new project.

Under this project, Solve.Care will offer its Ethereum-based token $SOLVE to customers, as a form of payment for the rides that they take for medical purposes. The token was launched back in February of 2019.

Uber Health, a subsidiary of the popular cab service, works by coordinating rides for healthcare associates, booking them on demand or for future appointments. This new collaboration will offer ride appointments to customers, who can pay for those using the blockchain firm’s Care.Wallet. The wallet will also allow sharing of costs with insurers or family members.

The SOLVE tokens are based on the ERC-20 standard, and can be used for paying network fees, Care.Wallet transactions and payment of their marketplace services. The tokens are currently trading about 7% up against the U.S. dollar.

A press release detailing the terms of this collaboration states that the support function for Uber Health will be made available on the Care.Wallet from the second quarter of this year.

This is an incredible achievement for blockchain and crypto, to find such wide acceptance in a mainstream company like Uber. Let’s hope this is indicative of a new trend in the market to legitimize crypto payments in more sectors.
