Coinbase CEO Calls Bitcoin His First Love On Its 10 Birthday

Even as Bitcoin struggles to get past the disappointment that was the year 2018, its well-wishers and staunch proponents, including crypto big shots like the Coinbase CEO, continue to keep the love flowing for it on its tenth birthday.

On 3rd January, 2019, Bitcoin officially completed a decade since the first Genesis Block was mined. To celebrate, the founder and CEO of the Coinbase cryptocurrency exchange, Brian Armstrong, tool to Twitter to express his deep love and heartfelt support for the pioneering cryptocurrency that really set the ball rolling for the crypto sector.

He went so far as to call Bitcoin his “first love” to express the full extent of his fondness for the said cryptocurrency. Armstrong made the point over a series of Tweets, his posts laced with nostalgia.

He explained his journey in the crypto world and how he ended up establishing what is one of the top cryptocurrency exchanges in the market today. However, his primary focus remained on Bitcoin. He wrote:

“Bitcoin is one of the most important inventions of all time and has launched a global movement. It’s awesome to see an entire ecosystem spring up around it, but Bitcoin is my first love.”

The Coinbase CEO kept on stressing the fact that regardless of the fluctuations in the market, Bitcoin continued to be a great favourite amongst most of the Coinbase users, including serious investors.

He reasserted his faith in Bitcoin’s future potential and said that is just the first stage in Bitcoin’s development, for which the possibilities are enormous and endless.

He wrote:

“I believe we’re still at the beginning. The white paper signaled the start of a movement and the full promise of Bitcoin is still yet to be realized.”

Armstrong also said that the impact of Bitcoin was so great on him that he had not been able to stop thinking about the Bitcoin whitepaper for 6 months straight after reading it back in 2010.

With so much love and optimism doing the rounds, will 2019 be THE year for Bitcoin? Let’s wait and watch!
