Ukraine’s Government Launches Official Website for Cryptocurrency Donations

The Ukrainian government has launched a political candidate cryptocurrency donation website to boost funds in support of the Ukrainian military and humanitarian aid programs within the fight against Russia. The donation platform could be a collaboration between the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Everstake, and cryptocurrency exchange FTX.

Government’s Crypto Donation Website Currently Live

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine declared on Monday that it’s launched the official “Aid For Ukraine” web site to boost funds in support of the Ukrainian military and humanitarian aid programs within the fight against Russia. The crypto donation platform is in partnership with staking service supplier Everstake and cryptocurrency exchange FTX.

Mykhailo Fedorov, vice prime minister of Ukraine, tweeted Mon confirming that the official web site wherever anyone round the world will build cryptocurrency donations to Ukraine has gone live.

The new donation website describes, “Aid For Ukraine is cooperating with the cryptocurrency exchange FTX that converts crypto funds received into rescript and sends the donations to the commercial bank of Ukraine,” elaborating:

This marks the first-ever instance of a cryptocurrency exchange directly cooperating with a public money entity to supply a passage for crypto donations.

The Aid For Ukraine web site lists crypto addresses furthermore as checking account data for the govt of Ukraine for donation. Donors will send many cryptocurrencies, together with bitcoin (BTC), ethereum (ETH), tether (USDT), polkadot (DOT), solana (SOL), dogecoin (DOGE), and monero (XMR). The Ukrainian government jointly accepts rescript donations in USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, and CAD.

At the time of writing, the donation website indicates that over $50 million are raised by the community.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine explained that the funds raised are spent on military instrumentation furthermore as “informational nullification to Russian propaganda” and a “global communication campaign on true events in Ukraine.”

The funds will be utilized in “cybersecurity and digital infrastructure recovery, providing further protection and migration of registers, [and the] purchase of technical special instrumentation and facilities,” the ministry noted.

Earlier this month, Alex Bornyakov, Ukraine’s deputy minister of digital transformation, revealed that his government has spent $15 million in given cryptocurrency on military supplies, together with bulletproof vests.
