Tim Harrison Confirms Cardano’s New Ouroboros OBFT Consensus Protocol

Tim Harrison, the Marketing and Communications Director of Cardano affirmed that a spic and span Ouroboros Byzantine Fault Tolerance consensus protocol will be released tomorrow.

A Way to Decentralization

It has been uncovered that following year and a half of development, the Cardano group is prepared to upgrade its primary algorithm, Ouroboros Classic, to Ouroboros Byzantine Fault Tolerance. Where the first is related to Byron Mainnet, the new one is the stage of system evolution before the Ouroboros Genesis which power the Shelley Mainnet.

The update will happen on February 20, 2020, inside the Epoch 176 of the Cardano network. Neither Cardano holders nor the members of Shelley Incentivized testnet have been approached to do anything during the hour of the upgrade.

The Mainnet
