Texas Transportation Body Partners With IOTA to Improve Transportation

The official transportation body of Texas, ATX is situated in Austin and the body has announced that they will be partnering with the IOTA blockchain to bring innovation to its automobile and transportation sector in the state capital of Texas with an estimated population of around 1 million. The announcement tweet from ATX Transportation read,

“We’re partnering with the nonprofit @iotatoken to bring the future of mobility to Austin. Learn all about it at a special event on Monday, April 29, at 5 p.m. on the UT campus. ATD and IOTA leaders will make an announcement, followed by a Q&A.”

IOTA has seen a sudden surge in demand for its technology, especially in the automobile industry, where TATA-owned Jaguar first announced that it will be partnering with IOTA to facilitate its new crypto bounty programme, where IOTA tokens will be used to pay crypto bounties to the Jaguar users for sharing traffic data and other details on a public blockchain.

The news of Jaguar-IOTA partnership also helped the crypto token to gain some price movement. Now that the Transportation Department of Texas has also announced its partnership, IOTA might finally see some bullishness in its pricing as well.

ATX recently released a newsletter describing how they plan to implement IOTA in their current transportation system. The newsletter read,

Imagine being able to jump from one mobility service to another through one account, using whatever mode suits your needs. For that to happen, mobility providers, public agencies and users like you need to be able to share data and transactions with each other safely, securely, efficiently and seamlessly. The nonprofit IOTA (Internet of Things Application) Foundation is working to make that possible, and Austin Transportation is partnering with them to bring the future of mobility to Austin.”

The announcement by the Texas department was made in the presence of IOTA co-founder Dominik Scheine at a special event hosted at the University of Austin Texas.
