The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta, has announced an advanced programme in Blockchain and FinTech.

This new programme by India’s top management institute will be delivered in a hybrid executive format with onsite visits to its campus as well as live online sessions through the TalentSprint digital platform.

TalentSprint is a new-age digital platform that aims to transform the lives of both young and experienced professionals. Its hybrid boot camps vest professionals with high-end disruptive technologies.

The AI-powered digital platform helps professionals to get and stay ahead in a hyper-competitive world. TalentSprint, funded by Nexus Venture Partners and National Skill Development Corporation, aims to empower over a million professionals by 2020.

Indranil Bose, one of the programme directors, said –

“A vast majority of firms in the banking and financial sector believe that the lack of adequate FinTech talent is an existential threat to their future.”

“Our FinTech programme, designed with today’s management and finance professionals in mind, will leverage the deep research and consulting expertise of IIM Calcutta faculty and our state-of-art Finance Lab.”

“We plan to equip and enable 2000 FinTech professionals in the next few years.”

To be eligible for pursuing this programme, the candidate must hold a graduate or a postgraduate degree in any field. The score shouldn’t be less than 50% along with two years of experience.

India has that potential needed to become the FinTech capital of the world. Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) reportedly claimed a total of 2.45 billion digital payments in August 2018.

Even according to the Nasscom prediction, Indian FinTech size gets two-folded every three years. Within the coming decade, nearly 80% of the current FinTech firms will lose relevance.
