Elon Musk Trolls Ethereum on Twitter

By Prashant Jha

Elon Musk, the entrepreneur of the century has quite a sense of humor which he often showcases on Twitter. His recent trolling victim is none other than second largest crypto Ethereum and its founder Vitalik Buterin. Recently, Musk tweeted “Ethereum” today and shortly after took it back. As expected the founder of Ethereum Vitalik responded to his tweet by inviting him to Ethereum developer conference scheduled for October. Musk being the funny man he is responded with another burn and said stop giving away free ETH.

The response was an obvious reference to the recent spree of scammers impersonating to be Musk and asking for free crypto. However, this is not the first time that Elon has trolled someone on Twitter, interestingly one of his humorous tweets actually cost him his Chairman position at Tesla, when he tweeted about going public with Tesla and claimed that the shares will be valued at $420. Musk later clarified that it was a mere joke and he did it only to impress his girlfriend and was not serious.

Musk had to settle the fiasco with the US Securities and Exchange Commission but it came with a price of Musk reigning from his Tesla Chairman position. The agreement with the SEC requires Musk to get approval from a securities lawyer at Telsa before publishing any communication related to the company in any form, including tweets.

Musk’s Love For Tweets

Musk has a very altered sense of humor and I mean that with all due respect, as he has been often seen tweeting despite the hectic work schedule that he has burdened himself with. The Boring Company, an aspiration Elon project aimed at creating underground tubes for commute took shape on twitter when he randomly tweeted while being stuck in traffic. Elon said he is fed up with the worsening traffic condition and he might start digging a hole in the ground to make things better, and also said that the name of the company would be “The Boring Company.”

Musk is also an avid crypto fan and often engage in a short conversation with crypto enthusiasts from time to time and even confirmed that he still holds the 0.25 BTC he was sent a few years back by one of his friends.
