Ethereum cryptocurrency or Ether (ETH) is the designated token meant to facilitate operations and processes that occur within the ubiquitously used Ethereum blockchain.

Being a blockchain network that can juggle usual transactions with elegant solutions such as blockchain smart contracts and dApps on a scale, Ethereum has become incredibly popular and reliable.

However, since ETH is used more to take care of what is happening within the Ethereum blockchain itself, its prices usually remain far lower than that of Bitcoin.

The price of ETH performed extremely well within the timeframe of December 2017 to January 2018 and managed to sustain that momentum within the first few months of last year, that is, 2018.

In January last year, in fact, ETH saw its price hike to a little over 1300 US dollars. This is hardly surprising to note as December 2017 was the time when most cryptocurrencies peaked in terms of prices and got a great deal of media exposure and coverage. The rest of 2018, after the initial months, were not as promising, as prices began to fall.

Even in 2019, the ETH price has remained strictly ho-hum. At the time of writing, its price stands at $133.65, which is a far cry from its $1300+ price point a little over a year. However, the slump in ETH price does not seem to be quite as poor as the situation it faced in December 2018, when its price dropped to under $100.

What Was The Lowest Price of Ethereum?

The lowest price of the Ethereum cryptocurrency Ether in all of its recorded history was $0.420897. ETH sunk to this price 21st October, 2015. Nearly three years later, it seems that the price of Ethereum can never sink to such a low again, although the volatile space of crypto hardly allows for any guarantee as such.

Today, even during crypto winter, the price of Ethereum is many times that of what it was on October 21, 2015.
