A blockchain based operating system, Tron, is an ambitious endeavour to establish a genuinely decentralised internet and subsequently, it’s infrastructure.  The current Tron team totals to more than 100 members from places like Beijing to Seoul, Tokyo to San Francisco along with many other countries. The team members are experienced blockchain experts have had previous stints at internet Giants such as Alibaba, Tencent and Baidu.

Tron (TRX) has spiked more than 14%, trading at $0.027 with a market capitalisation of $1.79 billion according to the latest data by CoinMarketCap. This surge was followed within a few hours by an announcement by Tron’s CEO Justin Sun about the launch of Tron Virtual Machine.

The company’s super representatives who were deliberating on it for quite some time had finally attained a consensus, and thus the Tron Virtual Machine would be launched soon. The Tron Virtual Machine which is a massive step for Tron as it will give developers the opportunity and the tools necessary to create decentralised apps and conduct smart contracts on the company’s network.

Sun has also repeatedly emphasised how he believed that Tron would be a Top 10 Cryptocurrency, in the next six months.

“If we look at the top 10 cryptocurrencies, many of them are not motivated to continue innovating or improving their product. They represent the older generation of cryptos. Tron, on the other hand, is a young company with cutting edge technology, with much more room for growth. We are confident that Tron will surge into top 10 in the next six months.”

This platform is at the 11th place and in fierce competition with Monero for the 10th spot. If this surge in price holds, this seems like quite a possible achievement.

On Oct 8, 9:24 am, Sun tweeted,

Based on community consensus, #TRON will be upgrading to Odyssey 3.1 at 8pm SGT. The TRON Committee function & TVM will go live, marking the start of the Smart Contract Era. TRON will be 200x faster vs. ETH, 100x cheaper vs. EOS. dApp developers & users, this one is for you! $TRX
