The Return of the Satoshi Legend

Bitcoin the digital currency has fascinated the world right from its inception in 2009. The ‘digital gold’ had all the elements to grab the attention of masses. The most prominent essence or talked about topic in the crypto world is still the man behind the modern revolution, alias Satoshi Nakamoto. There have been several theories about the anonymous creator, some believe there is a group of people behind the project, while quite a few think there is only one person, but nobody can positively assert on an evidential conclusion on the pioneer of the paperless currency.

The Satoshi Nakamoto disappeared from the virtual internet platform P2P in 2010, and that was last anyone ever heard of, but in a recent development, the P2P profile has come to life. The world came to know about the event when the long-dead profile recently made friends with one Wagner Tamanaha. The profile also posted a cryptic update on the platform which merely said, ‘nour.’

However, people from the crypto world believe, the recent activity on the P2P profile of Satoshi could be a hacker and not the man himself. The reason being, the email address associated with the profile was compromised years ago.

The Email Hack

The GMX email account associated with Satoshi’s P2P account was reportedly hacked. The hacker even posted a warning to Satoshi from the same profile. The warning message to Satoshi went on the lines of,

“Dear Satoshi. Your dox, passwords and IP addresses are being sold on the darknet. Apparently, you didn’t configure Tor properly and your IP leaked when you used your email account sometime in 2010. You are not safe. You need to get out of where you are as soon as possible before these people harm you. Thank you for inventing Bitcoin.”

The crypto world thus feels the recent activity on the account could be another hacker trying to re-ignite the enigma. The air of anonymity over the identity is not yet clear, and chances are it won’t be clear.

However, there have been many attempts in the crypto world to zero on to one guy, who could be the anonymous creator. Craig Wright, the man behind the Bitcoin Cash SV, did claim the title of Satoshi, which was proven to be false, thanks to the significant technical differences. Hence the nickname ‘fake Toshi’ came into being.

The same group of journalist out there to seek the real identity of the man firmly believes the mysterious man is an American, 50 something by the name of Nick Szabo.

Nick Szabo has been the topic of discussion in the inner circles, and many believe he is the man. There is substantial evidence to back the claims, like the uncanny similarities in the writing style of Szabo and similar phrases used in the white paper published for the Bitcoin. The way of thinking and liberal views are quite uncanny as well. However, Nick Szabo has denied any links to the white paper or being Satoshi.

Final Thoughts

We as a crypto community must respect the reasons (whatever it may be) behind the decision made by the pioneer. The Anonymity adds to the legend of the Satoshi Nakamoto, and if the man/group behind the Bitcoin is not yet ready to be identified, we might have to live with that.
