Elon Musk asks for Dogecoin Founder’s help in fighting Twitter Scambots

The founder and chief executive officer of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk asked Jackson Palmer, the creator of Dogecoin (DOGE) to help him in eliminating Ethereum giveaway scammers on Twitter. Initially, Elon Musk was amused by Twitter scam bots but now he is finding them annoying and wants to get rid of them.

Back in July, the billionaire CEO, Elon Musk Tweeted to his 22.2 million followers that he is amused by the scam bots who want to steal Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies and want to know who is running Etherium Scambots.

The tweet came out after a fraudulent account appeared on his feed. Armies of bots have been mimicking not only Elon Musk but also other high profile users to trick people into sending them cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum.

From past many months, Ethereum giveaway scams have plagued Twitter by spamming messages on the feed of high profile users to lure the new users into falling in phishing scams such as “Send 1 ETH and get 2 ETH back”. These scams have become annoying for Elon and he decides to reach out to Jackson Palmer on Twitter to get rid of these scams. Elon tweeted that if Palmer can help his to get rid of the annoying scam, it would be much appreciated.

In May this year, Jackson Palmer has introduced a script which can automatically block Ethereum giveaway scammers who are using profile image of the public figures. The script detects the presence of accounts with identical profile images and blocks them to eliminate the possibility of scams.

Palmer did not take much time to respond and promised Elon to send him a script which could possibly resolve the problem. Palmer also requested Elon to connect on private chat so that he can share the simple and short script.

After few minutes, Palmer again tweeted stating that he had a good chat with Elon and advised CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey and Twitter team to fix the problem at their end so that their users do not face such problems again and again.

Update: Elon has the script… we had a good chat on how @jack and the Twitter team should definitely automate and fix this problem on their end though. 🤷‍♀️

Jack has recently suggested that Twitter must use blockchain technology to combat scams and misinformation on the platform.
