Domino’s To Benefit From Blockchain and AI?

By Prashant Jha

Blockchain and pizza go way back, ever since Bitcoin’s first payment was made for a Papa John’s pizza. Now, the connection between pizza and blockchain is set to go further with a new deal sealed between SingularityNET and pizza delivery and chain store major Domino’s. With a future strategic partnership in place, these two are planning to have the pizza chain make use of SingularityNET’s decentralized Artificial Intelligence marketplace to reach out to more customers in areas such as Malaysia and Singapore.

The decentralized aspect of this partnership will be ensured by blockchain technology and the developer community of SingularityNET will work on forging new artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to serve the needs of Domino’s pizza and make an effective use of blockchain in the supply chain. Domino’s, which currently owns a total of 260 stores in Singapore and Malaysia, will resultantly see a major boost in operational efficiency.

Domino’s sees this partnership as a means to make use of robust technology and inventive algorithms for streamlining service and delivery. As Ba U Shan-Ting, the Chief Executive Officer of Domino’s, Singapore-Malaysia division said:

“[W]e combine technology and the talents of our people to provide our customers with the best products and service by driving innovation.”

He further added:

“Our newest transformation effort is occurring in our Operations function, where we are automating significant portions of our delivery operations and consolidating our operations centres. SingularityNET’s AI algorithms and services will allow us to explore these efficiencies at scale.”

Ben Goertzel, the Chief Executive Officer of SingularityNET also sounded extremely enthusiastic about this partnership and had the following statement to make:

“Today in 2019 we are going forward into a new phase of society and economy where AI is going to be the main focus of innovation across all domains of industry, so it is to Domino’s credit that they are fully embracing AI as a key part of their path forward.”

Goertzel also sounded rather hopeful about the future:

“The projects we are discussing with Domino’s now are envisioned as the start of a long series of creative and transformative AI collaborations.”
