BitTorrent Users will Now Receive Tron (TRX) for Seeding

BitTorrent the popular peer to peer movie and file sharing platform announced that the users who will provide the content will receive rewards in Tronix (TRX). The distribution of rewards will help to stimulate file sharing.

Earlier sharing of content via torrent protocol was completely free. On the BitTorrent platform, content providers are known as seeders and the users of that content or those who download or consume the content of files are known as leechers. When the sharing was free the seeder had no real motivation to keep their contents available for others to download while now when the seeder will receive the 13th most valuable cryptocurrency Tron as an incentive, it will be a real motivation for the seeders to provide more and more content on the platform. It is expected that once the BitTorrent platform will be on Tron blockchain, file and movie distributing seeding will rise on the platform. It is the first step by the platform to achieve a token economy which is centred around content sharing.

The decision of using Tron on the BitTorrent platform came after the announcement of Project Atlas. Now BitTorrent will merge with blockchain technology. The new software will incentivize BitTorrent seeders with Tron tokens just for dedicated bandwidth and file space on their computers to upload and seed files on the platform. The users who have low computational power can connect with other and can pay them to retain their clients. The tokens which are collected by the seeders can be exchanged for fiat or other digital currencies. The tokens can also be used on the platform to get a faster download speed. Tron team believes that with this innovation they will be able to transform the content distribution industry a step forward in their vision of decentralizing the web.

Users can also pay the seeders for allocating more bandwidth so that the users can get a higher download speed. It will stimulate the use of TRON by seeders as well as leechers.
