Who Is Hedera Hashgraph’s New Chief Product Officer?

Hedera Hashgraph, a blockchain enabled next-generation public ledger, which provides a new form of distributed consensus, has recently announced Lionel Chocron as their new Chief Product Officer. According to Hedera’s platform, it:

enables and empowers developers to build an entirely new class of decentralized applications that were never before possible.

So who is Chocron?

Previously at the Vice President, Industry and Emerging Technology at Oracle, Chocron joined Hedera just a couple of days back. At Oracle, he led the emerging technology (Blockchain, IoT, AI) solution efforts across industries. Prior to that, he was Vice President and General Manager at Cisco, where he took on the responsibility of co-launching and scaling Cisco’s fast-growing Internet of Things (IoT) business.

He has notably also held roles at A.T. Kearney, Bain & Company, and BNP Paribas. He holds an MBA degree from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, a Masters in Engineering from McGill University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Ecole des Mines. He will now be undertaking the responsibility of the Chief Product Officer at Hedera.

Mance Harmon, the co-founder and CEO of Hedera had some generous praises for Lionel. He said:

“Hedera’s mission is to build the industry’s first enterprise-grade platform. Lionel has deep expertise in understanding the needs of enterprises, incubating solutions, and bringing them to market through appropriate channels to drive adoption.”

The Hedera product team also brought on Atul Mahamuni as Senior Vice President of Products and Nigel Clark as Senior Vice President of Partners and Industries. Mahamuni is also an excellent addition to the team, since he has many years of experience in product management. He was previously VP of – Blockchain SaaS Apps and Internet of Things (IoT) SaaS Apps, PaaS Platform at Oracle.
