Viral FaceApp Transforms 1$ Bill, Shows Its Pro-Bitcoin

By Rishma Banerjee

The most viral app on the internet at the moment, FaceApp, is pro-bitcoin! The immensely popular mobile application lets people get a glimpse of how they would look when they get old.

More than 150 million people worldwide have used the app and shared pictures all over social media as of today. The U.S authorities are now alarmed about this and feel that the user information (names and pictures) gathered this way might be used wrongfully. They have asked the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to look into it.

The US has further reasons to worry about FaceApp since it has been discovered that the Russian developers behind the application are Bitcoiners!

If one puts the picture of a $1 bill through the FaceApp, the result is an image showing George Washington in a hooded sweatshirt such that it almost covers his face. Actually, it claims to portray what the 1 U.S dollar bill would look like in the near future. If observed closely one can see the following features:

  • It bears the Bitcoin logo showing that the cryptocurrency has 21 million coins fixed supply.
  • There are no Federal Reserve or the United States of America, but instead a United Nodes of Bitcoin with the name of Bitcoin’s anonymous founder, Satoshi Nakamoto is on the bill.
  • A Bitcoin public address is also there on the bill having the signature ‘cryptograffiti.’

Certainly, FaceApp’s prediction is only a fantasy, as much as the old age photos everywhere on social media. However, it was a happy sight for Bitcoin enthusiasts who genuinely believe cryptocurrency can one day be at par of or eventually replace the US dollar as the global reserve currency.

With the first decade fairing well enough, there is still a long way to go for crypto.
