The wineries – Ricci Curbastro, Ruffino Wines, and West Wind Wines will from now, tag their bottles with a My Story label, using VeChain hardware tags. These tags can be used to scan the QR codes that will instantly reveal the authentic product history of each bottle of wine. Also revealed will be information about how it was cultivated bottled, which variety of grape was used and also regarding the ownership of the vineyard.
This My Story DApp, was first announced by VeChain, last March.
Luca Crisciotti, CEO of DNV GL, Business Assurance, said:
“My Story illuminates products and their supply chain for the benefit of consumers, who will have instant and in-depth access to key product characteristics such as quality, authenticity, origin, ingredients, water and energy consumption and more, all verified by DNV GL along the entire transformation process.”
All of the information gathered will be stored on the VeChainThor public blockchain.
While VeChain has been focusing on real-world businesses and is aiming to develop infrastructure that will lead to mass adoption of blockchain powered solutions, DNV-GL is aiming to cater to millennials, a demographic, that is redefining purchasing behavior and is most likely to want direct interaction with brands and their products. According to them,
“Hyperconnectivity is a key element influencing the need to communicate with consumers, as well as posing opportunities for brands tp engage. Meaning ‘everything is taking’, it refers to the use of many systems and devices to always stay connected. we are all exposed and hyperconnectivity can enable people’s willingness to interact with the product itself.”
