Chris Larsen, the co-founder of Ripple made his place in the Forbes 400 rich list for 2018. Chris is the 383rd richest person on the earth. The interesting thing about Chris is, he is the first person who earned his wealth solely from cryptocurrencies.

Last week Forbes released its latest Forbes 400 list for the year 2018. According to the list, the estimated net worth of Chris Larsen is $2.1 billion. Chris is a business executive and angel investor who is known for co-founding several technology startups in Silicon Valley. In 2012, Chris co-founded Ripple Labs, Inc. The company developed Ripple, a software which enables instant and direct transfer of money between two parties. He is the advocate of financial privacy in California, in 2001 Chris co-founded the coalition California for Privacy Now.

In January 2018, Forbes declared that the net worth of Larsen is $59 billion. In the list of world’s richest people by Forbes, he was at the fifth place. Chris even left behind the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg. In February 2018, Forbes named Chris Larsen as the richest person in cryptocurrency. Now again he is topping the list and maintaining the status of the richest man of the crypto industry. Founder of e-commerce giant Amazon, Jeff Bezos topped the list with $160 billion of net worth. Jeff gained $78.5 billion of net worth in a single year and left behind Bill Gates. The founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates was holding the prime position from last 24 years.

Chris owns around 5.1 billion Ripple cryptocurrency (XRP) tokens along with shares in XRP’s parent company Ripple. Currently, the worth of XRP tokens is $0.47 which makes the net worth of Chris $2.1 billion. There is a huge volatility in the cryptocurrencies so the net worth of Chris is also highly volatile. The CEO of Ripple, Brad Garlinghouse had a net worth of $9.5 billion in January but because of the high volatility of cryptocurrencies his net worth is fallen below the threshold limit which is needed to get a place in the list of Forbes 400 list.
