The second day of the World Economic Forum was hosted in Davos, Switzerland today, which saw the presence of several panelists who were discussing the future of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology, which is gaining more and more popularity with each passing day.

A report, which had been awaited with tremendous anticipation was released at the forum, which consisted of information regarding the quarterly top 50 blockchain companies in Switzerland and Liechtenstein’s Crypto Valley. The report, which was put together by investment company CV VC in collaboration with PwC Strategy and inacta, details the most promising companies in the crypto valley area for Q1 of 2019.

A very interesting information which  came to light as a result of this report is that a 20 percent growth has been noticed in the blockchain sector in the last quarter of 2018. This is a very promising statistic, taken into consideration the prolonged bearish market which has  been plaguing the crypto market.

Daniel Diemers, the Blockchain Leader for the Europe and Middle East Asia area at PwC Strategy spoke of the benefits of collaborating with CV VC and also elaborated on the growth of the blockchain industry in the country. He said,

“Crypto Valley has grown enormously in just three short years. Even two or three years ago, there were just 10 to 15 companies in the blockchain industry.”

The report reveals information about 15 new companies which are to enter the list since the previous quarter, most notably the payments platform TokenPay and the data analytics company Santiment. Some other important companies which were added were 4ARTechnologies, Boscoin, HDAC, ICON, Mt Pelerin, Nexo, ODEM, Quant Network, Saga, Sygnum, Swiss, Utopiamusic, WPP Energy and Zulu. Moreover, four startups which are considered unicorns have also been added. There was also a list of promising companies that have a good chance of being included in the next quarterly top 50 report. They were ambrpay, Arca Trust, Blockimmo, Cosmos Network, Datum, Friendz, Grain, Metaco, Orion Vault, Pigzbe, PikcioChain, Qiibee, Request Network, Taurus Group and UTRUST.
