Max Keiser Claims To Be Actual Bitcoin Founder: Just Another “Faketoshi”?

By Prashant Jha

Another person, this time Max Keiser of the Keiser Report, has claimed to be Satoshi Nakamoto. If you are crypto market regular, you would know how many people have tried to claim they are Satoshi Nakamoto, the anonymous creator of Bitcoin. While we may never know why Satoshi Nakamoto chose to remain anonymous, we can sure guess why so many people are so eager to take on his identity.

There have been so many of these probable imposters that we have gotten tired of taking them seriously. But for what it’s worth, the newest claimant of being Satoshi Nakamoto does deserve some acknowledgement for coming forward and laughing at other Satoshi imposters. The American broadcaster might simply have been joking, however, taking a dig at Craig Wright and the others who have earlier made such claims.

His tweet read:

‘When someone claims to be Satoshi, I laugh. I know they’re lying because I know I am Satoshi.’

The whole trend of claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto has become so common that apparently even a signature tool has become available for all these “Faketoshi”s to use for duping purposes. After Craig Wright, Amaury Sechet had also claimed that he is the actual Satoshi Nakamoto but it did not seem like the crypto world was ready to buy his story either.

Keiser, for his part, happened to include a link to this United States patent dating back to 1996, for a ‘Computer-implemented securities trading system with a virtual specialist function’ and he offered only this in way of proof that he was the man behind the creation of Bitcoin all along. His utter confidence seemed to have been adequately accompanied by a disdain for all possible competition, as he laughingly dismissed them.

It’s likely that the internet will briefly dissect his claim before going back to business, till another Satoshi claimant comes along.
