IBM Studios is a 4000 square meters gigantic space with ten rooms on its three floors and can host two thousand consultants. Situated in Piazza Gae Aulenti in Milan and designed by architect Michele De Lucchi, the studio will be having their inauguration in the month of March. This initiative will be dedicated to the development of artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud computing, IoT, security and quantum computing and is aimed at facilitating the process of the digital transformation of the country’s systems.

IBM Studios which has a total financial commitment of over 40 million euros over a period of 9 years, is slated to be the hub of technological innovation. It will be used to promote the highest level of digital knowledge and encourage collaboration with all types of companies including local associations, institutions, universities, research centers, developers and students. The fact that Italy now has an active legal framework for blockchain, cryptocurrency etc is all more ideal for faster development in the digital field.

Enrico Cereda, the President and CEO of IBM Italy said,

“The structure will be open to anyone who wants to have a leading role in the change that this country needs. In fact, we live in an unprecedented historical moment in which exponential technologies can simplify bureaucratic processes, foster efficiency, track products made in Italy and thus provide a boost to the relationship of trust with consumers.”

According to the information available, the IBM Studios engine will be powered by skills and is to be brought into life by the number of areas like the IBM Cloud Garage, Strategy & Design Lab and IBM Client Center.

IBM Cloud Garage, which is supposed to stimulate companies to foster innovation,  represents an experimentation center for cloud application development and, at the same time, a methodology that combines innovative approaches such as Design Thinking and Agile. This section stimulates different kinds of companies to embody innovation. The Strategy & Design Lab deals with the creation of customized experiences and services for each type of industry with specific co-creation techniques, which are able to meet the needs of entrepreneurs and professionals while the IBM Client Center consists of 16 structures and represents the meeting place, where different businesses exchange their experiences.
