Ground X, the blockchain subsidiary of leading South Korean internet company, Kakao has recently launched the testnet version of their new network Klaytn.

Klaytn is a platform which will “improve the inconvenient UX of existing blockchain platforms by allowing end users to experience blockchain technology in the most seamless way.”

The main focus of the platform is to improve the User eXperience (UX) and Developer eXperience (DX) environment and conveying the value of blockchain technology. The company is planning to launch the mainnet of the Klaytn in the first quarter of 2019.

In the press release, the group announced that currently, the testnet version of Klaytn is available only for 10 of its partners in Korea and around the world. The group has already invited these 10 partners from various industries including gaming, entertainment, video streaming, social media, webcomics, healthcare, digital advertising, and finance to utilize the platform. Service providers and developers who are interested in using the Klaytn Testnet can sign up on the official homepage of Klaytn. The selection will be made after the initial screening. The white paper of the platform is already published which outlines what the platform can do and what to expect.

According to the chief executive officer of Ground X, Jason Han, “The popularization of blockchain requires providing a practical blockchain service for mass adoption thereby validating the value and utility of blockchain technology.”

Han said that the platform is designed to provide an easy and friendly environment for developers, service providers, and end users, all at the same time. It is expected that the Klaytn will feature most advanced services. For developers, Klaytn has features such as tutorials and toolkits which are necessary for blockchain-based service development. Toolkits include Klaytn Wallet, Klaytnscope, and BLASQ. Klaytn Wallet allows the users to safely transfer and guard their tokens which are created on Klaytn. Klaytnscope allows the users to monitor all activities on the platform such as block creation and transaction. BLASQ is the incentivized blockchain co-work community where the questions and answers of the users related to the blockchain technology will be answered. These questions and answers will also be rewarded with tokens.
