Gemini To Open New Office In Chicago
If Bitcoin’s volatile but tremendously bullish run, is indicative of anything, it shows that the popularity and acceptance have grown by many folds across the world. According to a tweet posted by one of the Winklevoss twins as well as reports that have been published it has been revealed that Gemini, the popular cryptocurrency exchange, will be expanding into the Chicago area. This exchange, which has over the years gained a lot of users is owned by the Winklevoss twins.

According to the recent announcement, the new Chicago office will serve as an engineering hub and act a bridge between the company’s Portland and New York City offices. Tyler Winklevoss talks about this expansion and why Chicago was chosen as the site for Gemini’s new offices. He said,
“Over the past 150 years, Chicago has grown into a financial powerhouse that is tightly linked to Wall Street and the global financial system at large… This legacy makes it a great home to build the future of money because it has an incredible pool of talented engineers who understand the unique skills and expertise necessary to build best-in-class exchange infrastructure that meets the standards established by traditional financial markets.”
Winklevoss also notes that an area where the Chicago office will concentrate the most will be scaling for the future and continuing to build on their existing data centres and direct connectivity. Gemini has been going full-throttle since the crypto markets turned around earlier this year. As we previously reported, the exchange launched a major advertising push in New York City back in February.
