ContiNEO, A DevCon Organized By NEO To Be Held Next Month

By Rishma Banerjee

NEO, a blockchain based digital economy platform has already made its way to the top of the crypto market ladder with the help of its diverse and vibrant developer community.

This year, the community is organizing the NEO DevCon 2019, at the Hyatt Regency in Seattle.

NEO hasn’t backed down after last year’s severe ups and downs for blockchain projects and is preparing for its second developer conference to be held on February 16th-17th.

The event is expected to feature more than 40 speakers and more than 30 projects across 20 separate exhibits organized by NEO users and developers from across the world. The two-day event will cover the discussions on the first day and a developer workshop on the second.

Organizers are hopeful that this year’s DevCon will be successful in the process of promoting blockchain to the world and gain sufficient attention. The aim of the workshop is to attract talented developers from across the world and introducing the world of coder-friendly blockchain to them with the help of workshops and advice from experts in the field.

Founders Da Hongfei and Erik Zhang are expected to open the event with a revised plan NEO’s ‘Smart Economy’ plan and will present an official course of action for major developments over the next year.

The speakers and panels will discuss platform architecture, innovation, ideas and the regulations for blockchain developers. The event is expected to be attended by Miha Kralj, managing director of consulting firm Accenture, and Dr. Chris Berg of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), who will discuss major trends and crypto-economics respectively.

Zhang said:

“The NEO DevCon is a place where we can share the latest technological advances, learn about interesting applications and discuss the possibilities of future changes with relevant experts and scholars. This time we also invited some speakers from Seattle-based tech giants to share their insights with us.”

The conference will also cover the regulatory aspect of the crypto industry and prominent speakers like Joseph Williams, (Governor Jay Inslee’s ICT industry sector leaders and the State of Washington ICT economic development director) will be sharing their ideas about nascent industries with the blockchain developers.

The uncertainty of regulation is one of the most concerning problems that arise for blockchain development and adoption. This conference is NEO’s attempt at working with regulators and creating a space for blockchain representation to the authorities from different parts of the world. According to Zhang,

“NEO’s goal is to have the ability to run large-scale commercial applications. The technology development of the blockchain will eventually land in practical applications, and we hope to serve the goals of the smart economy”.
