CEO Nvidia: We are “on the cusp of” a blockchain & NFT allowed metaverse

Nvidia’s fresh Voyager campus is serving as a testing ground for what it will appear like when then Metaverse encounters the physical world.

One of the greatest powerful men in technology thinks that the metaverse — a period for a series of interlinked, tenacious virtual worlds with self-limited economies — is just around the corner.

One of the most thrilling use cases for blockchain & NFTs, enthusiasts enthused by Neal Stephenson’s Snow Crash have long been eager for a VR/AR world with a crypto-powered internal market. Currently , however, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang considers the tech to make it occur is on our doorstep.

Talking at the virtual Computex conference, Huang held that he “believe(s) we are right on the cusp of” the metaverse & spoke brightly of its possible, rendering to a record of a Q&A session he had with reporters — going as far as to about that operators will one day use metaverses to “fake the future.”

‘There will be AR versions, where the art that you have is digital. You own it using NFT. You’ll show that beautiful art, that’s one of a kind, & it’s digital. You’ll have your glasses on or your phone. You can get that it’s sitting right there, flawlessly lit, & it belongs to you. We’ll see this overlap, a metaverse overlay if you will, into our physical world,’ he held.

He renowned that Nvidia is previously using a VR version of Nvidia’s novel office building to test these theories, a site that the company has dubbed “Voyager.” Among the world’s major manufacturers of GPUs, Nvidia rummage-sale supercomputers to “fake architecture” for Voyager, helping with design & ecological efficiency, & finally, the company will permit employees to attend work by tiring VR headsets from home & controlling robots to move about the physical office space, a joint VR/physical workplace cross.

“This building exists in VR. We designed it completely digitally. We are successful to build it out so that there will be a digital twin of this very physical building in VR. We’ll be capable to simulate everything, train our robots in it. We can fake how best to distribute the air conditioning to decrease the energy consumption […] we can simulate all of that in our digital twin, our building metaverse, beforehand we deploy anything here in the physical world. We’ll be able to go in & out of it utilizing VR & AR.”

Huang is not the only CEO who has weighed in on NFTs & the Metaverse as of late, though he is surely the most hopeful. In January Fortnite creator Tim Sweeney held that NFTs are the most “plausible” path towards an operative metaverse but for now they continue a “speculative mess.”
