Bob Moore Car Dealership in Oklahoma To Accept Crypto Payments

By Prashant Jha

Bitcoin adoption has been rising steadily over the years despite the bearish slump in the market. As a testament to that rising adoption, a card dealership company in Oklahoma has started accepting Bitcoin payments. The name of the company is Bob Moore, and it is involved in operation 18 dealerships within Oklahoma. In a recent press release dated 14 March, 2019, the company announced its decision to start accepting crypto payments from customers. Besides Bitcoin, the company will also accept payments in Ethereum and Litecoin.

The company has paired up with Aliant Payments to be able to accept these payments in crypto form. Aliant is a company involved in facilitating crypto receipts for merchants. As a result, whenever Bob Moore now sells its cars or parts of vehicles, it will be able to accept crypto payments from the buyers via Aliant.

The first dealership which will see a rollout of this facility will be the Subaru dealership owned by Bob Moore in Oklahoma City. Other dealerships in the same state will soon experience the same facility as well.

This is not the first time that crypto payments are being integrated into the automobile industry. Even so, Bob Moore’s decision to work with such payments can prove to be quite transformative as it is a dealership involved in selling used cars in addition to pricey new cars.

As a result, it is capable of tapping into a wide range of customers, who are not just restricted to high end buyers. Earlier, only dealerships such as the Costa Mesa Store (a Lamborghini dealership) accepted crypto payments, which meant that only a few affluent crypto users could make use of the facility.

An official statement from the dealership read:

“As the Premier dealership group in Oklahoma we are excited to be the first in the state and one of the first large groups in the country to adopt cryptocurrency as a form of payment,” said Bob Moore Subaru General Manager, Charles E. Davis. “Subaru is a progressive brand and only deserving to be the first one to institute digital currency in the group. We expect great things from this ever-evolving space and with Aliant payment systems ability to remove the volatility, we were able to make it a reality.”
